the most dangerous cake recipe…
December 6, 2008
So I received a forwarded email (thanks val) with this included…”The Most Dangerous Cake Recipe.”
Take a coffee cup and add:
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional
- splash of vanilla extract
- large coffee mug
Mix all the dry ingredients well. Then add the egg…mix…then the rest of ingridents…mix. Then put that bad boy in the microwave for 3 minutes.
Where’s the danger? You are only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake. Dangerous indeed.
We all know I’m not much of a cook…but this just sounded sooooo easy. So I gathered up all the ingredients and gave it a whirl.

Yes, that is a mickey hand measuring spoon.

ooooo cake!

ugh! icky-icky poo! Dangerous cake, not so dangerous after all. Maybe it was the vanilla extract that expired in 2004 (it was only a splash?) or maybe it was the cocoa blend…but the most logical answer (considering my history), would be that it’s all the cook’s fault. I get it…I should stick to painting food, but should any of you folks out there with five free minutes to kill decide to give it a try, do let me know if it’s just me…or the stupid recipe.

I don’t know that it was you. I’ve heard sketchy things about those 5-minute microwave cake recipes. Here’s one that a fellow blogger tinkered around with, but even at that, she thought it was mediocre (and if anyone could make it taste good, i’d expect it to be her): http://www.thehungrymouse.com/home/2008/10/28/investigating-the-myth-of-the-5-minute-chocolate-cake

Instead of mixing up the ingredients from scratch, use a store bought cake mix. It’s quicker and usually tastes better than my own cooking, but can be used in a mug just fine.

Hi! Just dropping by from the Philippines…i’ve tried this recipe too…and it worked fine.. Though it doesn’t result as sweet as conventional baking..^^

Oh it’s so yummy! Just add more than the 3 T of chocolate chips to it before microwaving. Also add more chips and/or some hard chunked peppermint of baking bits with some cool whip. Just wanted to share cuz of you are totally missing out! (;
