a lovely wedding gift…

August 2, 2008

What better way to celebrate the start of a marriage, than with a pen & ink of the couples first home?  The mother and father of the bride commissioned this piece, and they were such a great couple to work with, especially considering the day we met for photos it decided to pour down rain…

A beautiful home, but tricky to  photograph…

a rough pencil sketch for approval…a little editing was in order for a clean view.

And here’s the final ink.  I hope the Bride & Groom enjoy it!  I’ve met a few couples along the way that have commissioned pen & inks of all the homes they’ve lived in.  I wish I had documented some of our childhood homes.  They make such a lovely gallery.
