***SALE*** This weekend only!

November 27, 2008

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  We’re looking forward to some of Granny J’s cookin’ tonight, and maybe a little Christmas decorating later this weekend.  Of course, I also plan to do a little online shopping and I thought…what would Thanksgiving be without family, great food, and a great sale?  All things considered, I decided the perfect way to show my appreciation for said day, would be to throw an awesome sale on The Original Foodie Prints. Think Saundra Kay’s Okra & Tomatoes or Liz’s Deviled Blue Crab. You’ll even find a festive drink or two over there.  So skip on over to the produce stand and take a peek!  There’s never been a better time to start a collection, and they make for excellent gifts!

Christmas that is!  Here’s one the inks from last year…revamped for their 2008 Christmas card.  Don’t forget to commission your custom pen & ink drawing now before the list gets too long and my fingers have arthritis!  Best part?  They’re on sale for $200, but that won’t last long!

Hope you’re all gearing up for a lovely holiday…ps…I’ll have a steal of a deal in The Produce Stand come Black Friday!

I think we’ll all be watching our pennies a little closer this holiday season.  There will be some great deals to be had, and for those of us on a tighter budget, it will mean really looking hard to find that perfect gift.  So this year, I’ve taken The Handmade Pledge. I’d rather my dollars support an independent artist, artisan, or craftsman, than a corporate machine.  The best part about it?…I end up with a truly unique, one-of-a-kind, thoughtful gift, and help an indie artist continue to do what they love.  Of course Etsy.com is a great place to start shopping for all things handmade, and they’ve got some really fun ways to navigate the site.  Check it out!

mindless doodles…

November 22, 2008

While cleaning the train wreck that I call a studio, I came across this mindless doodle.  This one was created for no other reason than I was talking on the phone and had a pen in hand.  Back in those college art history days, I could barely read my notes after class, as I had drawn a thousand mindless doodles over them.    So don’t read too much into this little gem…after all it is Saturday…

finally a Friday…

November 21, 2008

where things seem to come together!  I’m excited about this in part, because my brain never really “turns off of art.”  Especially considering I have a studio at home.  I pretty much eat, sleep, and breath it.  Once in a blue moon, all the loose ends come together on a Friday, such as today, and I feel as though I have had a “normal” work week.  One followed by a weekend of enjoyment rather than brow-beating work.  So cheers to Friday!  Hope you all have a lovely weekend…and don’t be surprised if I choose not to blog or answer my phone this weekend, I may just savor the break.

Oh and on another totally un-art related note…check out this stick bug I found the other day…turns out they make great pets.  Although, I’m not fond of that idea.

Fat-Free Fruitcake that is! Check them out over at The Produce Stand. Oh yeah, did I mention they make their debut at only $15!  And well…it wouldn’t fair to have Rockstar Reds on Sale without ALSO running the $15 sale on the Eat Your Greens series…so go shop around and have some fun!  Hope you like!
