a fond farewell and new horizons…

January 17, 2009

I had plans…lots of them…with coordinating lists (long ones)…a treasure trove of ideas…good, solid plans.  But you know what they say, sometimes the best laid plans fail, and that is just what’s happened.

It is with great sadness, that I must announce the end of  production for my Eat Your Greens and Rockstar Reds series of canvas prints.   My printer can no longer accommodate the 6″x6″ size, and I’ve yet to find a place that can even come close to touching their price.  While I could produce them, and sell them at a higher price, it has always been  my goal to keep my work attainable…so this is it!  If you visit The Produce Stand, you’ll see there are still some to be had, and they are now of a very limited edition.  Only one of each Rockstar Red was ever created, so they are truly one-of-a-kind!

Thanks to all of you who helped support this line of work, collected these little gems, and spread the word!  I’m honored for you to have them…and who knows…maybe I’ll find a way to bring them back to life in the coming months via a different size, medium etc…(sometimes goodbye’s don’t last forever)

On to the bright side…

It’s a new year and there are new plans in the works.  I have my eye on a state of the art printer, that will allow me to print archival quality prints in-house.  The best part…I get to nurture my inner control freak, and totally eliminate the middle-man.  I’ll minimize my overhead and have the opportunity to “print-to-order,”  and you’ll see my work a little more affordable to those of you who love art but can’t quite afford the investment.  “Good Things” (as Martha would say) are on the horizon.

Hey Heather — check this out — it really is a huge show — not a little local arts & crafts fair by any means. Michael and I both think you should make this part of your year. We think you’d sell tons of foodies here, and commission lots of pen & ink homes.

Affordable artwork is always good! And I can’t wait to see all these “good things” 😀

And what I wouldn’t give (ok, except thousands of dollars and various body parts) to be able to print from home…
