good things…

Everybody likes to harp on the negative…the economy…the slower sales…the yata yata yata, and I’m not going to lie, I’ve experienced a little lull just like the rest of you folks out there. I’ve had to work a lot harder to rope in commissions and reach a broader market, but in the midst of all this negativity, there is something happening in the arts that really gives me hope.
I’ve seen artists across the board working very hard to support and promote each others work. I’ve seen locals pulling together markets, art shows, and festivals, on shoestring budgets just to get the word out…I’ve seen galleries on the verge of closing shop, stay afloat by artists willing to volunteer their time. I’ve seen more artists sharing their blog forums to promote other artists work. It’s so wonderful to ride out the storm with such a great support system of like-minded people. I can’t thank you all enough!
Oh and speaking of sharing the love…PaperMichelle was kind enough to feature me on her bloggity blog…CLICK! As did AJ all the way in Canada! ..CLICK! I’ve added both these gals to the blog list, so be sure to see what they’re up to from time to time.
In other happy news…I received my Glass Diamonds Print from the ever so talented Victoria Bennett Beyer today!!! It’s even more gorgeous in real life, I’ll be sure to post more on this little gem when I get her all framed and happy. AND…(saving the best for last you know…) My new printer is here, and fired up! New prints and a new Etsy store are in the works…It’s like Christmas!

Hear hear! I’m so glad Savannah (and the people here) is/are so artist friendly. It seems like a lot of places aren’t.. or ‘don’t get it.’ Back home, there’s maybe one or two “art festivals” per year.. and those are crazy hard to get into (since they’re regional/large scale) if you don’t have a ton of $$
Ahh. And I know all about those lulls, but oddly enough, I sold more things while I was away in Orlando than I normall do when I’m here making an effort. ha!
And the printers.. I love it!
