my new favorite t-shirt

June 25, 2010

Designed by a dear friend, and probably one of the most talented artists Nick and I have ever met.  Jason Jones (or Bob to us) was the first friend we made at SCAD. We were both illustration majors, with completely different styles, but a mutual respect for each others’ work.  He’s working as a tattoo artist in Springfield, MO these days, and when I saw this t-shirt, it had to be mine…I’m a sucker for birds anyway…

Happy Father’s Day

June 20, 2010

to the best Dad in the world!  if you’ve met him, you know it’s true…the brosef and I,  and all the folks that so lovingly refer to him as “Big Al” are pretty darn lucky.  Thanks Dad, for being you!

Nothing makes me happier than knowing my little prints have found happy homes.  It’s fun to see how people mix and match to make their own collections…and I sooo appreciate when people take the time to send me shots like this!  (makes my day!)  I’ll be posting an album with many more shots to my Facebook Fan Page if you care to take a peek…

…it’s what keeps me interested in pen & ink work.  After all, it’s the little things that make a house a home, right?

Bethesda has to be one of the most beautiful places in Savannah to get married.  The Whitefield Chapel is nestled under giant mossy live oaks, and the entire property is quite close to the water.  It’s no wonder celebrities like Paula Deen and Mandy Moore have decided to say their vows here.  A sweet couple from Alabama commissioned me to do the  sketch for their wedding invitations, and I’m quite thrilled with the outcome.  Their guests will receive an archival quality print that can saved forever by simply putting it in a 5×7 frame.  Vellum inserts on the interior are attached with the daintiest of brads…(no ribbons and bows for this bride!)  Of course I also drew up some custom response cards to coordinate.

Our first cherry tomatoes! Seemed like it took an eternity for them to ripen…but well worth the wait.
