despite my lack of promotion this year….I received this nice little inclusion on Creativitae. Thanks Aimee!

Oh and don’t forget!  I have my $200 special going on in The Ink Lab! Commission those Christmas inks now, and save $50!  Special thanks to all of you who have already commissioned yours…(I’d post, but they’re Christmas gifts people…can’t be ruining any surprises around here)

Happy Tuesday!

I don’t even know where to begin!  Family and Friends.  Wedding.  House.  Work.  I’d dish more, but I’ve got a bridal shower to attend.

Special thanks to Style Court for yet another lovely feature.  CLICK!

Additional thanks to Flash Forward Photography for including my Mojito Baby in this delicious summer treasury.

Hope you all had a lovely long weekend.  Nick and I officially started making our house a home, which consumed far more time than we initially thought.  (I think this is usually the case)  We did, however, make time to grill a few burgers  and eat macaroni salad to make it feel a bit more like the Fourth. The progress:  no more  cranberry drapes and the kitchen is now asparagus green.

In other exciting news, Courtney Barnes has given me quite the write-up on her design infused blog, Style Court.  I’m honored to be featured on such a site, and I hope you will  all take a moment to peruse her blog.  It’s saturated with artful goodness, so much so, I think I’ll add her to my blogroll for a daily source of inspiration.

Happy Monday!

Mary Musgrove that is … It’s about time she got a little recognition…an important figure in history don’t ya know? Anyhoo…I was tickled pink to see her featured on the FoundHanmade Blog along with some other Native American inspired goods.

Pretty swell right?  I might add, it’s quite fun to shop around the FoundHandmade site, and they have some stellar deals for sellers looking to promote…oh but this is the best part.

Everybody likes to harp on the negative…the economy…the slower sales…the yata yata yata, and I’m not going to lie, I’ve experienced a little lull just like the rest of you folks out there.  I’ve had to work a lot harder to rope in commissions and reach a broader market, but in the midst of all this negativity, there is something happening in the arts that really gives me hope.

I’ve seen artists across the board working very hard to support and promote each others work.  I’ve seen locals pulling together markets, art shows, and festivals, on shoestring budgets just to get the word out…I’ve seen galleries on the verge of closing shop, stay afloat by artists willing to volunteer their time.  I’ve seen more artists sharing their blog forums to promote other artists work.  It’s so wonderful to ride out the storm with such a great support system of like-minded people.  I can’t thank you all enough!

Oh and speaking of sharing the love…PaperMichelle was kind enough to feature me on her bloggity blog…CLICK! As did  AJ all the way in Canada! ..CLICK! I’ve added both these gals to the blog list, so be sure to see what they’re up to from time to time.

In other happy news…I received my Glass Diamonds Print from the ever so talented Victoria Bennett Beyer today!!!  It’s even more gorgeous in real life, I’ll be sure to post more on this little gem when I get her all framed and happy.  AND…(saving the best for last you know…)  My new printer is here, and fired up!  New prints and a new Etsy store are in the works…It’s like Christmas!

Nothing makes an artist happier than seeing his / her work appreciated by other artists.  I was pleased as punch that fellow southern (though displaced) artista Victoria Bennett Beyer wanted my work in her collection…now she’s given me quite the write-up on her blog!  You must  CHECK IT OUT! (thanks Vickie!  I can’t wait to get my Glass Diamonds print)

In other news, Vayda’s working hard to raise awareness for Spay Day 2009…of course the puppy prizes are pretty enticing too…Be sure to check out her little page and place a vote…you know she’s the cutest!

Wishing you all a lovely Sunday
