A few months ago I hosted an owl themed Baby Shower in his honor.

Owl Baby Shower Invitation

I thoroughly enjoyed making the tissue paper pom poms (thank you Anne for the tips!) and burlap banner.

Turns out fruit sculpture is pretty fun too.

Making Granny’s famous shrimp salad (from wild Georgia Shrimp that SHE caught) and cake pops, proved a little more challenging for this aspiring domestic goddess. Thankfully, I employee great helpers (and Sam’s chicken salad is actually pretty darn good)

At the time of the shower Rebekah still didn’t have a name for her little man, so we labeled this special Baby Shower themed Thumbprint Tree with a simple “Baby Pearce.”

Notice the tiny owl on the branch? I couldn’t resist! Oh and I haven’t listed them for sale in my shop yet, but if you would like a Baby Shower Thumbprint Tree Guestbook, just let me know!

Just in time for Easter Bekah and Ben welcomed this sweet bundle of joy into their lives.

12×16 inch Thumbprint Tree Guestbooks are here!  They are the perfect size for small weddings, baby showers, birthdays and family reunions.  The best part about these little trees? You get the option of the standard black ink printed onto white paper OR chocolate ink printed onto natural paper.  (available with and without moss)  Sadly, I can only offer the chocolate ink and natural paper on the small trees at this time.

I’m Done with Cake…

January 18, 2011

no really, my history here is not good.  Let’s take a trip back in time to 2008…

Remember that Dangerous Cake recipe?

Or how about the time I cheated?

Prepare yourself for my latest kitchen disaster…The World’s Ugliest Cake…

The Ugliest Cake you have EVER seen

“Thanks for the cake, but did you drop it on the floor?” — text message from my husband

“It looks like a dalmatian!” — side note from my bestie

Personally, I think it looks like a squirrel danced all over it, but no matter how good it tasted, I’m leaving the baking to the bakers from now on.

On a bright note, I did succeed at making my first (and last) diaper cake for a baby shower last week.
