Last year he got this one…(the original, of course)…this year a little something to remind him of his 3 months in Central America.

Beets for the Shrute in You

November 11, 2008

Aside from fitting in with the series for obvious color choices, beets are my homage to the greatest tv show on the planet right now.

Of course I’m not the only person paying tribute this week.  The Brosef, all the way from the tropical paradise that is Costa Rica, finds time to watch the greatest show on earth.

One of my first murals…no big surprise that it’s in my brother’s room back home.

Something about his face needs a little reworking…if I had my way, I would revamp it with something totally mischievous while he’s living it up in Costa Rican paradise…but alas, Dad won’t let me.

Oh and for all you friends and family wondering how baby brosef is faring down in Costa…he’s currently surfing one of the longest breaks in the world in Pavones…nearly 3/4 of a mile long on a good day.

(please note it is not Alan surfing in this video…just a random youtube find to give you an idea of the place he’s currently at)

Bon Voyage!

Ok…so I promise to get back to art in a few days…(that left eye is still a bit of a jerk)…but in the mean time, I’d like to wish my baby broseph and Marc (who is practically another baby broseph) a safe but adventurous journey to Costa Rica.  I’m so grateful they took the time to visit me on my birthday, when they’re just about to leave the country for three months.  I couldn’t resist this little Kate Thurman AKA Microwave Girl card at Shop SCAD the other day…

I hope you boys surf the best waves ever, love life, and live it up while you’re down there.  Many hugs, and thanks again for stopping by…

That’s Alan on the left, and Marc on the right…to see a few other b-day photos stop by my flickr page
