Tomorrow is the last day to get your custom pet portraits commissioned in time for Christmas.  If you miss the deadline, I’m happy to issue a gift certificate to redeem after the dust settles a bit.  Hope you’re all enjoying the festive season so far!

Ahhh…felt so good to have my hands in paint for a few days…now back to ink work.

If you’d like your own custom pet portrait, now would be a good time to book before the holiday madness ensues.  (Seriously, where has this year gone?!)

Can’t wait to paint my own “mushed face” dog! I love pug wrinkles!

Meet Jake

Jake is a five month old pit mix.  He was starving and homeless when a friend of mine brought him in off the streets of Savannah.  He’s a good boy who’s had all his shots.  He’s even learned to sit before being fed and knows the word “no.”  He’s in desperate need of a home before his foster parents leave for a road trip out west.  If you’d like to add this sweet pup to your family, please let me know!  As the owner of two rescue babies, I can assure you they make great pets! Spread the word!

Merry Christmas!

Weekend Recap

May 3, 2010

Nick, Vayda and I took a trip down to Amelia Island this past weekend, where we stayed with my brother and his lovely gal, Liz.  I could not wait to meet my new nephew, Gibson…

Gibson Mutt Baby

at just 14 weeks of age, he is already the size of Vayda…just look at those big dog paws!  It should be noted, that while Vayda was tolerant of the new gangly legged pup, she was less than thrilled to see another Granddog running around her “vacation” home.   I tried in vain to get a picture of them together, but the Diva would not have it.

While there,  I also whipped up a little cursive for Dad’s kitchen wall.  “Bella Cucina” has a nice ring to it…no?I believe the translation is “Beautiful Kitchen” in Italian…

A much easier task than one would think.  If you’d like the step by step tutorial, leave me a comment.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Today is just one of those days.  I won’t bore you with the simple annoyances that have me a bit off kilter.  Instead, I choose to share with you my lucky find of the week.  Courtesy of Aunt Pam and her clever eye.

This mirror almost made it into Goodwill.  It’s a little dirty, but if you look close, you’ll see Miss Vayda stretching in the reflection.  Such a ham!

Diva-dog-attitude…

February 23, 2010

We have a real problem on our hands with Miss Vayda.  It all started a few months ago, when she decided that she would no longer eat or drink from her stainless steel bowls.  I guess after five years of the same dishes, she wanted a change of pace.

Since she never seems to have a problem cleaning our dinner plates, we presented her with a much more civilized ceramic plate and bowl.  The newness wore off, and  in about 2 days, she was starving herself again.

Nick’s brilliant idea was to buy the cheapest plastic bowls he could find…in a terrible, shiny-blue-ick color no less (I later found out he had the option to buy red) but by then the dog was eating from them…so how could I take them away?

These ugly bowls satisfied her  for about a month. Until last week when she decided that her outdoor water bowl had the tastiest water.  She begged and begged for us to let her outside.  We begged and begged for her to drink indoors.  The dog won.

Now I have one more piece of Bears memorabilia INSIDE my house.  She is without question, a Daddy’s girl.

and too darn cute!  I might just have to kidnap these pups one day.  (well, I might pass on Yoji since he’s on a homemade vegan diet…I can’t even cook that good for myself)
