…all the photos from the Pirate’s House mural.  I must say, this one sure is hard to photograph, so the next time you’re floating around downtown, drop by to see it.  Just tell them you’d like to take a peek at Captain Flint’s Hall, and they’ll give you the tour.  Enjoy!

Oh yeah, and Mr. UPS is due to drop off some yummy new paints for my next mural today!  I can’t wait to get out of this studio and on location again.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Are we there yet?

Finished?  Complete?  It may be a bit premature to say…but I think we’re there!  On a project of this scale, I always let my client “live with it”  for a week or so, to make sure I didn’t miss something.  I mean, when you spend a month working with your face six inches from the surface of something so large, it’s easy to acquire tunnel vision.  Here’s a peak at Captain Flint’s Hall for  you antsy blog-lovin’ folk…

Whew!  I must say, this was one of the most intense, fun, and unique mural projects I’ve ever encountered.  I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to have been able to leave my mark on a place where I have such fond childhood memories.   Buddy, if you’re reading this, I can’t thank you enough for the referral…Cathy thanks for giving me the canvas of my dreams…and to the rest of the staff…kitchen, servers, management, etc…thanks for making me feel welcome on your turf…it’s been a true pleasure!

a return to Pirates

August 25, 2008

Nick and I have spent the past 5 weeks traveling, and while I’ve enjoyed every stop along the way…it feels great to get back to some form of normalcy.  Finally some groceries in the house, time to bathe the dog and clean the studio, and a full day of painting.

There is something so rhythmic about layering paint, it was quite relaxing after all the hustle and bustle.
