mural updates…

November 18, 2008

So here’s the unofficial post pics of the double door mural.  I usually ask my clients to “live with” a piece for a week, just to make sure that they are satisfied with the final work.  A mural can really make a big statement in a room, so it’s important that it’s just right.  Speaking of “just right” I’m on my way out this morning to add a few additional touches to ye old Pirates’ House…and take a peek at my new canvas over there…that’s right!  Another wall will fall victim to my brush in the coming months…I so cannot wait!  Ps…click here for a look at the “before canvas.”

a sweet lil surprise…

November 13, 2008

So when I showed you the  preliminary sketch for the latest mural project, I neglected to show you the sketch that included all 4 of their precious pups!  Betcha didn’t think I could fit all that into two double doors…?

Oh Deer!

November 7, 2008

Corny title, I know…but I had the most splendid encounter yesterday!  I was driving up to my mural site, when I thought I saw a dog…or two or three…or how about SIX little deer!  I didn’t see any antlers, and they looked rather young, but they stood there while I got out of my car, opened the trunk, fished out my camera, and snapped pics until my camera died!  Not the best shots, I only had about 3 minutes to click away, but none-the-less a nice way to start the day. I’ll be sure to post the rest of the photos to my flikr as soon as I get the time…

swirls in my paint cup

November 3, 2008

Aren’t they beautiful?!  I’ve had this paint cup since my days as a Rising Star…in fact I think it came from O-House cafeteria…just a little nostalgia for your Monday…

Anyway, I’m off to paint those doors some more.  Here’s a sneak peak…

doors…

October 30, 2008

Once in a while, they must be painted.  It’s been a long time since I last painted a door, beveled edges and all.  I believe this was the last one, painted nearly 4 1/2 years ago.

My new canvas will require a bit more detail.  Here’e your first peek…

I’d spill some more, but I’m itching to get out of this studio and get my hands in paint!  Have a lovely Thursday!

at it again…

Little white squares of paper everywhere!

Ah but there’s so much more to do!…a new batch of Savannah Fountain Notes are set to arrive today, and like a breath of fresh air, I get to start work on my new mural!!! Oh have I been itching to get out of this studio…

…all the photos from the Pirate’s House mural.  I must say, this one sure is hard to photograph, so the next time you’re floating around downtown, drop by to see it.  Just tell them you’d like to take a peek at Captain Flint’s Hall, and they’ll give you the tour.  Enjoy!

Oh yeah, and Mr. UPS is due to drop off some yummy new paints for my next mural today!  I can’t wait to get out of this studio and on location again.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
