2010 Wrap Up

December 31, 2010

All in all, it’s been a pretty darn good year.  I’ve had the opportunity to work with some really great people, some old friends, some new.  I turned out an enormous amount of new ink work, (guess I have a lot more in me when I’m not planning a wedding.)  I followed up “The Year of the French Bulldog” by taking in a homeless one (what are the odds?!) AND, as of last night, I have finally put up our engagement, wedding, and honeymoon paintings (2 years in the making.)

…though I’m likely to move them, when I decide where to hang everything else in this house…

Best wishes to all of you for a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!

Holiday Recap

January 2, 2010

Hey everybody!  We’re back from the “North Pole.” While we enjoyed our white Christmas,  it’s good to be back in the warm South…(even if we did bring a few sneezes and sniffles home with us)

Nick’s home in the summer vs. Nick’s home in the winter…

and no, I did not shovel one bit of that snow, nor did I make a snow angel…

but I did take a chilly walk through the forest preserve to capture some snowy pics.

I’m thinking a new painting or two is in order…in fact, that is part of my New Year’s Resolution…find more time to paint for me.

Hope you all had a lovely Holiday Season with friends and loved ones…tomorrow I start posting all the fabulous Christmas commissions I’ve kept under wraps for so long…so be sure to stop by…and a very Happy New Year to you all!

hugs ~ h

Nick and I are finally back in Savannah after spending some 10 days on the road.  It was great to end one of the best years of my life with a little down time.  I must say, I’m ready to hit the ground running for 2009…so many ideas floating around my brain, so many plans to execute, so many lists already in the works, and time just flies!  I’m so grateful to all of you who helped to make 2008 a blessed year for me.  It’s been a whirlwind, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!  Now in the spirit of New Years…(and this may be a mistake)…here’s a few  resolutions…

1.  Work towards finding a healthy balance between work and family…(I’m a total work-a-holic, but I get it honest)

2.  Cut back on the consumption of my dear friend Cherry-Coke…(your sugary sweetness will be missed)

3.  I’ve got two series of paintings in the works, and it would really be swell if one series turned into a gallery show…

4.  Eat less for the wedding dress…

I’m sure I’ll come up with another 15 in the coming days, but how often do we stick to those things anyway?  Well, off to the races!  Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
