Funny…turns out more mystery surrounds this place than I had once imagined.  Granny and I jump ship (skiff really), and parade around the white sandy beaches for washed up conch shells…(the biggest you’ve ever seen)…We feel like we’ve been marooned on the place, as there has never been another soul in sight.  Needless to say, even my 29-year-old imagination runs wild here.  So imagine my utter delight in finding out this place was in many ways a small bit of Eden? Just so happens The New York Zoological Society utilizes this remote island to give endangered species from across the world a place to grow and thrive…Grevy’s Zebras and ring-tailed lemurs to name a few.  Sadly, the public is only allowed to access the island’s beaches…but should we come eye to eye with a zebra in the future, we’ll know it’s no mirage.
