…Nick’s much better at this than I.

We’ve got “the crud,”  and I won’t lie, I am probably the world’s worst sick person.  It started with Nick (yeah, it’s all your fault) and for three days I avoided him like he had the plague.  I sanitized and re-sanitized, washed my hands an estimated 321 times, and practically chased him around the house with the lysol can…and then the inevitable happened…I caught it.  Contrary to my non-nurturing ways, Nick has always stepped up to the plate when I’m under-the-weather.  Day 1 of sickness, I was presented with a glorious bowl of fresh fruit, delicately displayed in our large wooden salad bowl (he knows the importance of  table dressing ).   I have also been supplied with fresh meds, clean sheets, and the very best thing to cure “the crud”…Won Ton Soup, fresh from our pals at Bamboo Garden.  Trust me, the stuff works wonders.

All in all, I’m a pretty rotten caregiver, and a very lucky sick person.  Thanks for putting up with me Nick!  For all you readers out there, I promise to post again once this evil bug has passed, until then I’ll spare you the self-pity.

It’s here! It’s here!

Quicker than I thought even…Did you see it? We hope you’ll enjoy the layout…I’m most excited that you can now view the murals full screen (it did them no justice to have them at 400 px wide, when some are 24 feet  in real life)…Oh and speaking of which, we finally added my Anne Bonny Mural to the site.  Now that it’s all rolled out, I owe Nick about 1000 sketches, so it’s time to get back to work…but in case you’ve forgotten the old layout…here are some before and after shots..

Before on the left…after on the right…

Happy Halloween!

so many things!

March 10, 2009

My brain is pure mush.  The onset of Spring, brings the tourists back full force, and  Nick and I will be setting up this weekend at the Savannah Market Bazaar. I’m excited to test the waters there again, but golly gee, these shows are a lot of work.  I’m currently printing, labeling, mounting, and bagging prints like mad.  (please dear printer do not run out of ink)   I have boxes and boxes of cards to package and tie little black bows around…table clothes need ironing and so many little details I’ve yet to account for.  It’s madness I tell you!  Some other fabulous artistas to look for this weekend…jewelry maven and roller derby queen, Kelly, and the multi-talented, always delightful Robin Lynne! Hope to see you there!

the house with the Yellow Windows!  Did you figure it out?  Did you guess it was mine 🙂  It was a tight race and a fierce competition, but yellow takes the win with 4 more votes than blue.  Finally, some redemption for the humiliating loss a few years back.

Nick, I love you mucho!   It was a great challenge.   I suppose we’re tied on artful food sculpture contests…so we’ll have to come up with something grand for a tie breaker.  Oh and we might blow up old blue with fireworks today…(Dad’s idea, not mine)

Thanks to everyone who helped settle the score and placed a vote…(especially all you yellow house fans 🙂  Wishing you all a very Merry (almost) Christmas!

For his birthday…

September 30, 2008

He wanted cake.  Homemade cake.  A challenge he presented to me with little faith, I tell you!  Now, I’m not one to turn a blind eye to my abilities (or lack there of)…but a decision had to be made.  Do I step up to the plate and overlook my poor track record in the kitchen?  Take a risk and hope that it is edible?  Or call for backup?

Skip on over to my FLICKR page to find out!
