The sweetest bride commissioned the original sketch of this charming church in St. Francisville, Louisiana. I’ve absolutely fallen in love with the structure, the stained glass, and the azaleas… maybe one day I’ll get to visit!  Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hand Watercolored and Signed Prints are now available in TheInkLab!

A lovely place to get married, no?  A bride & groom commissioned the original sketch, and I now have hand-watercolored and signed prints of Stone Manor available for purchase in The Ink Lab.

My observation:  it’s really just fruitcake with extra nuts.

but don’t tell my fruitcake hatin’ Granny this…she claims they are culinary worlds apart (and she made the nut cake)

A striking resemblance to the ugliest painting I’ve ever painted, no?

Sometimes I really luck out!  I just worked up a sketch for the beautiful Azalea Inn and Gardens located in Historic Savannah!

The color version is available as an 8×10 Hand-Watercolored Print, for sale at the Inn as well as in theinklab.

It was a pleasure working with Teresa, the innkeeper, and her gracious staff.  Azalea Inn, while beautiful and grand in every detail, still feels like home.  I think little Joey, Greeter and Ambassador, has something to do with that…

It’s a little late for our anniversary, but I’m pretty sure illustration board counts.

Custom Art for Christmas

October 18, 2010

If you’ve been pondering that portrait of Fido or a sketch of your childhood home, now is the time to get on the list.  My schedule fills fast this time of year, and I’ve got some serious holiday travel lined up.  Only 68 days left until Christmas! Eeeeeek!

No house is too big or too small and I’m a sucker for just about any furry baby!  All I need are some awesome photos to work from, and a little bit of time.  I can also make archival prints of the original work  so that other friends and family members can have a little memento too!

Most importantly, I want to remind you all to consider buying handmade this year and supporting your local art community.  Aside from bringing home the most unique gifts, you’ll also be keeping people like myself from having to get a “real” job…(I hear there’s not many of those anyway)…so keep it quirky, and  buy handmade!

Email heather@flyoungstudio.com or click on my shopping links to the right to get started.  Hugs~

I’m working on a series of Isle of Hope sketches, and very thrilled to have the new Pink Door Gift Boutique in Norwood Market carrying the prints.  If you haven’t checked them out, they have an eclectic mix of gifts, and having just opened a week ago, I’m sure there’s much more to come.  Thanks Christy and Teresa for your continued support of my work!
