A custom pen & ink drawing of a home or garden makes for a very special gift. I still have time to ink a few drawings out before Christmas, but if you’re interested, please book soon.  Remember, if you commission a drawing of an old family home, we can make archival quality prints for the whole family, and with a few quick edits to the original drawing, an elegant holiday card can be fashioned…(see below)

This rather stately B&B resides in Maryland.  Come to think of it, this  just might be my first ink from Maryland, but don’t hold me to that.  A lovely Bride & Groom have commissioned this sketch of their wedding venue.  Can you imagine getting hitched on these grounds?!  Enchanting!

I’m pretty sure I’ve officially visited all of Savannah’s Squares by now…and can truthfully say that  Chippewa Square, with its monument to General Oglethorpe,  is  one of the finest in Savannah…

score!

February 8, 2010

Spent the greater part of last week in Florida, where upon, my brother finally returned a sketchbook that I had left in his truck several years ago.  It’s like catching up with a long-lost friend.  Here’s what I was drawing on 5-16-06.

A sleeping Vayda-monkey, that is.

It’s not too often I get asked to do a pencil sketch vs. a pen & ink. However, the owner of this home, had two other pencil sketches of previous residences, and wanted to keep this one with the same feel.  It turned out lovely, and even reproduced well on Crane Stationery.  Don’t forget, if you’ve had an ink done by me in the past, you can now have your drawing reproduced on stunning Crane Stationery by my friends at Turtle Creek!

Quite a rough sketch at this stage.

doodle?

or character design?  Perhaps mindless drawing may be the most natural way to achieve  doodle evolution…I’m not quite sure, but I’ve enjoyed two full days of it….ahh January bliss!

it occurs to me…

January 16, 2009

that on this early Friday morning, we are nearing (among other events) Valentine’s Day! Before my schedule heats up, be sure to get your custom pen & ink drawings commissioned.  I mean what could be sweeter than an elegant sketch of your love nest?  Or surprise your sweetie with a sketch of their childhood home!  All I need are the best photos you can find…(if you’re local to Savannah, I’ll gladly take them for you)  Oh and if you get your order in quick, there will still be time for my friends at Turtle Creek to print your custom drawing onto beautiful Crane Stationery! Skip on over to The Ink Lab for more information.

Oh and speaking of Turtle Creek…I’ve got their very own custom ink in the works…here’s the rough pencil sketch…
