Ok…so we’ve been talking about adding pet portraits to etsy…some how some way.  I already have three etsy stores, so the question is…do I add the pet portraits to the heatherlyoung.etsy.com shop?  I originally intended for that shop to be a “hodge-podge” shop for my items that don’t fall into any one particular catagory… Or do they deserve a shop unto themselves?  I’m not sure…so please vote and help me decide.  Many thanks!  I truly appreciate the following this blog has collected…I’ll look forward to your expertise!

Thankfully Cima was so kind as to serve me vodka and take me out for a most wonderful meal at Alligator Soul…(ps…for all you Savannah Foodies…Cima has keeps the best dining blog and dining reviews in Savannah…check her out!)

In other news…my  new shop has seen some love on the treasury circuit.  I’m always honored to see someone has chosen my work to be surrounded by so many other fabulous items.

Whew!  I’m off to drop of the tax organizer…and to celebrate my freedom from receipts and mathematics, I’ll be painting up a storm this weekend.  Three pet portraits and then some…so if you should call, and I neglect to answer…know that I am in a state of pure bliss, and mean no offense.

painting people…

January 11, 2008

It’s been a while since I posted a bloggity blog…(sorry)…but it’s been even longer since I have painted a real human being.  I guess I’ve just been immersed in food illustration, architectural work, and pet portraits…but after toying around with some sketches, I’ve discovered how much I miss painting people, women in particular.  Just so happens this is the start of a special piece for a friend of mine who so graciously donated her time to help me over the Holidays…I’ll probably end up taking it in a totally different direction…but I thought you might like to see that I can and do in fact, draw people…
