Meet Annie

January 29, 2010

Not only is she my beautiful new cousin-in-law, she’s also one talented photographer.

She was so gracious to tote her camera along for our wedding day, and we are eternally grateful for all the little stories she captured along the way.  Here’s just a few of her stand out shots.  Oh and in case you’re wondering, her studio is based out of Chicago, and yes, she will travel to capture your special day.  View more of her work here…CLICK!

Tags for our wishing tree…one of these days, I’ll give a tutorial on how to make these little gems.

Aerial view of our nest bouquets.

Grapevine nests made by my dear Granny, and of course, my dahling blue birds.

Nick waiting to see me (Chris making sure he doesn’t run away)

Time to get hitched!

Toasts!

Dancing!

The one and only glass of wine I had all night…

More dancing!

and the Brosef being his usual self…managed to tape one cup to the back of our limo.

Annie, you have no idea how happy he was you photographed this cup.  Thanks again for the beautiful photos, we sure hope you had a great time!

honestly…

January 27, 2010

…I admit it…I got back from all the holiday travel, and slacked off.  I had some time to play with,  to paint things that have been on the list for a while…but I just couldn’t turn on the “self-motivate” switch…It wasn’t for a lack of ideas either…I’d pick up the pencil, and it just wouldn’t connect.  Perhaps it was a bad list to work with?  Whatever the cause, it was a  terrible little box to be in.  (Any of you other artists out there get what I’m sayin’ ?)

Thankfully, I’ve emerged from that box with more ideas than I can possibly get down on paper in the next year…I’m feverishly making lists of things not to forget, and eagerly waiting for the art supply store to open this morning…It’s such a vast contrast to the unmotivated me, and it’s like I can switch over night.  Nick says I’m either “all art” or “not.”  I’m not sure which “me” he fancies most, but he’s certainly living with the both of us whether he likes it or not.

I’d write more, but I currently have 4 lists in front of me, and this blog barely made the cut….gotta roll with this vibe while I’ve got it!

Last year he got this one…(the original, of course)…this year a little something to remind him of his 3 months in Central America.

Super thanks to Donna of FifthQuadrant for including my Eat Your Greens series in this crisp treasury.  I so hope this one makes etsy’s front page!  Oh and I might just have to have those mugs to match my Asparagus Green kitchen…who wants to buy me a present? lol

For more information the items featured here, CLICK! (list expires Jan. 23)

He may be the last to post, but he was the first of four French Bulldog commissions to come my way this year.  Just look at those ears!  I absolutely adore him!

It’s not too often I get asked to do a pencil sketch vs. a pen & ink. However, the owner of this home, had two other pencil sketches of previous residences, and wanted to keep this one with the same feel.  It turned out lovely, and even reproduced well on Crane Stationery.  Don’t forget, if you’ve had an ink done by me in the past, you can now have your drawing reproduced on stunning Crane Stationery by my friends at Turtle Creek!

K-9 Officer Bull

January 15, 2010

I was sooooo excited to take on this commission.  Why?  Because it comes from a long-lost friend (we haven’t seen or heard of each other in say…15 years?!?)  who also happens to be marrying a K-9 Cop!  Jill gave me great freedom with this piece, and when I found the green patterned paper, I knew exactly how I wanted it all to play out…Thanks Jill!  It was tons of fun to work on this project, and even better to reconnect with you!

There’s something about a landscape painting that speaks a little louder than just a photograph. It can capture the mood, the atmosphere, that specific moment in time that reminds you of the day you got married, the view from your honeymoon balcony, or maybe the place where you met and fell in love….awwwwww!  Just think of the possibilities!  (and the look on your Valentine’s face when you give him/her this thoughtful reminder of fun times)  Anywho…we haven’t much time til February 14th, so be sure to book quick!  CLICK HERE for all the deets and don’t forget to spread the love!  xo
